Aplicativos móveis – instalado hoje, amanhã não mais?

Imagem
World cup fever: Don´t forget to bring your mobile device

Imagem
The World Cup happens every four years and it´s the main soccer event in the world. Brazil (my home country) is hosting the games and with it comes a broad range of technology that can literally put everyone into the arena. Even in countries where soccer is not the most popular sport, the attention has been amazing. And the feeling here in Brazil is that the World Cup is everywhere. It´s World Cup fever – and it is very infectious! Everywhere around the world, information is available and everyone is connected and informed. However, soccer fans attending the World Cup are having a different experience, powered by technology. I am not talking about TV broadcasts (which also have a lot of new features to engage their audience), but rather new types of interaction that everyone is experiencing. But if you are still planning to attend the World Cup and want the full experience, don´t forget to bring your mobile device. If you are already here and forgot to bring it, you should have alr...

Mobile banking apps: clients are asking for more

A recent  article  by  Karl Flinders  in Computer Weekly discusses how banks are innovating applications in response to recent mobile demands. Cloud solutions in particular are being adopted to increase agility and cut costs. This is not an isolated trend. Many industries are being attracted to the power and reach of mobile applications and cost-effectiveness of Cloud Computing. The first step Similar to the strategy of some European banks, many companies decided to introduce their mobile platform by simply emulating their web applications (with some adjustments). Basically, they wanted to have something running on mobile devices. With HTML 5, there was an expectation that there would be no need to develop native apps, and the transition to mobile devices would be smooth and risk-averse. But that is not completely true. Even though companies were satisfied with the results of HTML 5, they were not really getting the most from mobile devices. A tantalizing ...

No matter what your industry, the customer is in charge

There is a common trend among the recent “Hype Cycles” published by Gartner: The consumer is driving the market.  This is forcing companies that are unprepared to look for quick wins to address new market conditions. Changes in customer expectations are requiring companies to embrace a new style of IT that incorporates Systems of Engagement into their customer facing applications. The pressure to do this will continue to increase , requiring a dramatic transformation of your IT environment. This is particularly evident in the healthcare industry, where the market is becoming increasingly consumer-driven. There is new dynamic.  The client has the power to influence new products, particularly enabled by Mobile technology. Modern applications can help understand customer habits, their history, and determine how to pro-actively prevent illness. The requeriments for pro-actively diagnosing and preventing illness include understanding customer risk ...
